Could a simple pill replace hospital IVs for pregnancy anemia?

NCT ID NCT07163390

Summary

This study is testing whether a new type of oral iron supplement (Sucrosomial iron) can treat iron-deficiency anemia in pregnant women as effectively as the standard intravenous (IV) iron treatment. It will involve 82 women in their second or third trimester. The main goal is to see if the pill can raise hemoglobin levels just as well as the IV treatment, while hopefully causing fewer side effects and being more convenient.
