Study tests if swapping soap and lotion lowers toxins in your body

NCT ID NCT04919434

First seen Apr 09, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at whether switching to different personal care products (like soaps and lotions) can lower the amount of certain chemicals (phthalates, phenols, and glycol ethers) in the body. Researchers will measure these chemicals in the urine of 107 women aged 18-30 from the Grenoble area before, during, and after they use substitute products for 5 days. The goal is to understand if simple product swaps can reduce exposure and to explore barriers to making such changes.
