Can a percussion device help ventilator patients breathe better?

NCT ID NCT07453966

First seen Mar 08, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a special breathing treatment called intrapulmonary percussive ventilation (IPV) to standard care helps people with pneumonia who are on a breathing machine. About 96 adults will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care alone or standard care plus IPV. The goal is to see if IPV shortens the time on the ventilator and improves lung function and safety.
