First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tests whether a type of talk therapy called interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) can reduce depressive symptoms in young adults aged 18 to 24 in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The therapy is delivered in groups by a trained university student and a doctor, not a specialist therapist. Fifty participants will be randomly assigned to either the therapy group or a waiting list, and their symptoms will be measured after 8 weeks.
