First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This trial tested a two-step treatment for people with advanced solid tumors that no longer respond to standard therapies. First, a laser heats and destroys part of the tumor. Then, a drug called IP-001 is injected directly into the treated area to help the immune system recognize and attack remaining cancer cells throughout the body. The study included 28 patients with various cancers, focusing on safety and early signs of effectiveness in melanoma and soft tissue sarcoma.
