Could a single radiation dose during surgery improve rectal cancer outcomes?
NCT ID NCT05877352
First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether giving a single dose of radiation directly to the tumor area during surgery is feasible for people with advanced or recurrent rectal cancer. About 31 participants will be randomly assigned to receive standard surgery alone, or surgery plus one of two radiation doses. The goal is to see if this approach can be safely delivered and studied further, not yet to prove it works better.
