ER nose sprays for Kids' cuts: study pulled before it started

NCT ID NCT05057689

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study aimed to compare three different nose sprays (dexmedetomidine, fentanyl, and midazolam) for reducing pain and anxiety in young children (ages 2-6) getting stitches in the emergency room. The goal was to see which spray worked best and was safest. However, the study was withdrawn before any children were enrolled, so no results are available.
