First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tested whether a nasal spray of dexmedetomidine works better than the standard oral syrup midazolam to prevent negative behavior changes (like crying or clinginess) in children after surgery. 324 children aged 2-5 years having tonsil or adenoid surgery took part. Parents reported their child's behavior for up to a month after the operation.
