First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests a procedure called intentional replantation for single-rooted teeth that are considered hopeless due to advanced gum disease. 45 adults will have the tooth removed, treated outside the mouth, and put back in. Researchers will use 3D X-rays and exams to check if the bone and gum heal over 9 months. The goal is to see if this can save the tooth and improve symptoms like pain and mobility.
