First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study aims to detect hidden episodes of atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) in 1,200 acutely ill patients aged 50 and older who are at risk. Participants will be monitored with devices to catch brief heart rhythm changes that could lead to stroke. The goal is to use this data to build computer models that predict who is at highest risk, enabling earlier prevention.
