New hospital team aims to save lives by treating infections and addiction together
NCT ID NCT05688423
Summary
This study is testing whether a special hospital team that treats severe infections and substance use disorders at the same time leads to better health outcomes. The team provides coordinated care during a hospital stay and for four months after discharge. Researchers will compare this integrated approach to standard hospital care to see if it helps patients stay alive and out of the hospital.
