Immunotherapy duo shows promise in tough prostate cancer

NCT ID NCT04717154

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tested a combination of two immunotherapy drugs (ipilimumab and nivolumab) in 69 men with a specific type of advanced prostate cancer that no longer responds to hormone therapy. The goal was to see if the treatment could shrink tumors or stop the cancer from growing for at least 6 months. The approach uses the body's immune system to fight the cancer, but it is not a cure and ongoing management is needed.
