AI-Powered radiation zaps only cancer, spares healthy tissue in head and neck trial

NCT ID NCT03953976

First seen Feb 22, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tested a new way to give radiation for head and neck cancer. Instead of treating the whole neck, doctors used artificial intelligence to focus radiation only on the cancer and nearby suspicious spots. The goal was to see if this approach could control the cancer while causing fewer side effects. The study included 67 adults with certain types of head and neck cancer.
