New study tests easier way to fill cavities

NCT ID NCT06192667

First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looked at two different types of tooth fillings for cavities on the chewing surface of back teeth. Thirty healthy adults aged 18-35 received both an injectable filling and a conventional filling. Over 24 months, dentists checked how well each filling stayed in place, matched the tooth color, and caused any tooth sensitivity. The goal was to see if the newer injectable material works as well as the standard one.
