Gum graft breakthrough: injection and laser may stop shrinkage
NCT ID NCT07303192
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tested whether an injection made from your own blood (platelet-rich fibrin) and a low-level laser can reduce shrinkage of gum grafts after surgery. 48 adults with receding gums received a standard gum graft, with some also getting the injection or laser treatment. The goal was to see if these add-ons help the graft keep its size and improve healing over 6 months.
