Inhaler training slashes ER trips for kids with breathing trouble
NCT ID NCT05555134
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tested whether an educational program on using inhaler chambers could reduce how often children with bronchospasm visit the emergency room. 121 children aged 2-15 and their caregivers were split into two groups: one received the training plus usual care, the other only usual care. Researchers tracked ER visits at 1, 3, and 6 months after the training to see if the program made a difference.
