First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at two methods of giving the water-removing medicine furosemide to people hospitalized with acute heart failure and fluid overload. About 436 adults will be randomly assigned to receive the medicine either as a slow continuous infusion or as several injections throughout the day. The main goal is to see which method removes more excess fluid, measured by weight loss after about 3 days.
