Blood test may predict Kids' Post-Surgery confusion

NCT ID NCT07323485

First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study is looking at whether simple blood tests taken before surgery can help predict which children might become confused or agitated after waking up from anesthesia. The study will include 140 children aged 2 to 12 who are having circumcision. Researchers will check for certain markers in the blood that are linked to inflammation and see if they relate to how the child behaves after surgery.
