Half the time, same results: new study finds 1-hour light therapy beats 2-hour for scalp spots
NCT ID NCT07290959
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tested whether a 1-hour indoor light treatment works as well as the standard 2-hour version for removing sun-damaged spots (actinic keratosis) on the scalp. Fifty-five adults over age 50 with multiple spots on both sides of their scalp received the shorter treatment on one side and the longer on the other. Results showed both times were equally effective at clearing spots after 3 and 6 months, with less pain and better convenience for the shorter option.
