Could a 1-hour light treatment be as good as 2 hours for scalp spots?
NCT ID NCT07290959
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tested whether a 1-hour indoor light therapy session works as well as the standard 2-hour session for treating actinic keratosis (rough, scaly spots from sun damage) on the scalp. 55 adults with at least 5 spots on each side of their scalp received a light-sensitizing cream, then one side was exposed to light for 1 hour and the other for 2 hours. The goal was to see if the shorter time could still clear the spots with less discomfort.
