First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tests whether using a portable air cleaner at home can improve heart health in older adults (ages 55-79) living in Montana, an area with worsening wildfire smoke. Participants will use the device for a period, and researchers will measure changes in their heart disease risk score, blood pressure, and cholesterol. The goal is to see if reducing indoor air pollution can help prevent cardiovascular disease.
