First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study looked at 100 older adults (over 75) admitted to a hospital geriatric ward to see how often they were prescribed unnecessary drugs or missed needed ones. Researchers used special checklists called STOPP and START to review each patient's medications at admission and discharge. The goal was to understand how common these prescribing problems are, so hospitals can improve care for elderly patients.
