Study reveals how often elderly patients get wrong pills in hospital
NCT ID NCT07202962
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looked at 100 older adults (over 75) admitted to a hospital geriatric ward to see how often they were prescribed medications that were either unnecessary, risky, or missing. Researchers used special checklists called STOPP and START to identify problems at admission and discharge. The goal was to understand how common these prescribing issues are, not to test a new treatment.
