Decluttering at home could be key to treating hoarding disorder
NCT ID NCT04712474
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding in-home decluttering sessions to group cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) helps adults with hoarding disorder reduce clutter and difficulty discarding items. About 90 participants in Sweden will receive group CBT, with some also getting hands-on decluttering help at home. The goal is to see if this extra support improves symptoms more than group therapy alone.
