WhatsApp messages could catch diabetes earlier in moms after pregnancy
NCT ID NCT07489456
First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looks at two ways to improve diabetes screening in women who had gestational diabetes during pregnancy. First, it tests whether sending reminders via WhatsApp helps more women show up for a glucose test 6 to 12 weeks after giving birth. Second, it compares a newer method (measuring blood sugar one hour after a sugary drink) to the standard method (measuring after two hours) to see which catches more cases of prediabetes or diabetes. About 182 women will take part, and the goal is to make follow-up care easier and more effective.
