First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looked at whether using a special transport algorithm and a risk index could improve what nurses and doctors in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) know about safely moving newborns between hospitals. About 100 NICU staff took part. The goal was to see if these tools help staff make safer decisions during newborn transport, which could lower infant death rates.
