First seen Mar 12, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tested whether giving birth attendants simple, practical guidelines and regular training could improve care and reduce stillbirths in five busy hospitals in Tanzania. Over 65,000 women in labor and their newborns were followed until they left the hospital. The goal was to see if this low-cost approach could make childbirth safer in places with limited resources.
