NCT ID NCT04519580
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study explores whether ultrasound and PET/CT scans can accurately diagnose and monitor polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR), a condition causing muscle pain and inflammation. Researchers will follow 98 adults over 50 suspected of having PMR, using imaging at key points during treatment. The goal is to replace the current exclusion-based diagnosis with a more reliable method and also check for steroid-related adrenal insufficiency.
