First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looked at how pancreas-kidney transplants change bile acids and blood sugar control in people with type 1 diabetes and kidney disease. Researchers measured bile acid levels and glucose tolerance one year after transplant in 50 patients. Results were compared to kidney-only transplant patients and healthy controls to understand why blood sugar problems can persist even after a successful transplant.
