First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looked at whether using a special footstool to change your sitting position on the toilet can make bowel movements easier for people with a rectocele (a type of pelvic organ prolapse). Sixty adults with this condition completed the trial. They rated their straining on a scale from 0 to 10 and filled out a questionnaire about bowel function. The goal was to see if a better posture could reduce the effort needed to go to the bathroom.
