New drug cocktail shows promise for tough lung cancer

NCT ID NCT03581487

First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tested a combination of two immunotherapy drugs (durvalumab and tremelimumab) plus a targeted therapy (selumetinib) in 40 people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer that had returned or spread. The goal was to find the safest dose and see if the combo could shrink tumors or slow cancer growth. While not a cure, this approach aims to give patients more control over their disease.
