Scientists probe immune System's hidden role in psychosis

NCT ID NCT06687694

Summary

This study aims to understand how the body's immune system is involved in psychosis and how it affects a person's response to antipsychotic medications. Researchers will collect blood and spinal fluid samples from 500 people—some with psychosis starting new medication and some healthy volunteers for comparison. The goal is to find biological markers that could one day help doctors better diagnose psychosis, predict outcomes, and choose the most effective treatments.
