Immune cells linked to insulin problems in new study
NCT ID NCT05329337
First seen Dec 18, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looked at how certain immune cells (called peripheral blood mononuclear cells) might affect the body's response to insulin. Researchers took blood samples from 30 healthy volunteers and tested whether substances released by these cells could block insulin signals in liver cells. The goal was to better understand the link between the immune system and insulin resistance, which can lead to high blood sugar and diabetes. This was an observational study, not a treatment trial.
