New imaging study aims to unlock secrets of knee arthritis treatment success

NCT ID NCT07494838

First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study will use advanced PET/MRI scans to look at changes in knee metabolism after a procedure called genicular artery embolization (GAE) for knee osteoarthritis. The goal is to understand why some patients get significant pain relief while others do not. Researchers will enroll 25 adults with moderate-to-severe knee pain who have not responded to other treatments. The findings may help doctors better predict which patients will benefit from GAE in the future.
