Study seeks 'Just Right' drink to reduce ileostomy output
NCT ID NCT07231666
Summary
This study aimed to see if the thickness (osmolality) of nutritional drinks affects how much fluid people with ileostomies lose through their stoma. Fourteen adults with ileostomies tried different drinks during separate 6-hour test periods. Researchers measured the weight of their stoma output and urine to find which drinks might help manage fluid loss.
