First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looked at 65 adults with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis to see if a marker of inflammation called interleukin-6 (IL-6) is linked to thyroid hormone problems. Researchers measured IL-6 and thyroid hormones in blood samples. The goal was to understand if inflammation might contribute to thyroid issues in these patients, but the study did not test any treatment.
