Can a simple blood test predict lupus kidney damage?
NCT ID NCT07149402
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looks at a protein called IL-33 in the blood of people with lupus, some of whom also have kidney problems (lupus nephritis). Researchers want to see if higher IL-33 levels are linked to more active disease or kidney involvement. The study involves 150 adults: lupus patients with kidney disease, lupus patients without kidney disease, and healthy volunteers. It is purely observational and does not test any treatment.
