Could a protein on Pre-Leukemia cells lead to a new treatment?
NCT ID NCT07455500
First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looks at a protein called IL-1RAP found on certain blood cells in people with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), a pre-leukemia condition. Researchers want to see if this protein can be targeted by a special immune therapy (CAR-T cells) to kill the diseased cells. They will collect blood and bone marrow samples from 120 patients to test this in lab dishes and in mice, but the therapy is not yet given to people.
