Heated chemo during surgery shows promise for advanced pancreatic cancer

NCT ID NCT07493421

First seen Mar 26, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether a major surgery that removes the pancreatic tumor and visible cancer in the abdomen, followed by heated chemotherapy (HIPEC) directly into the belly, is safe and feasible for people with pancreatic cancer that has spread to the abdomen. Participants must first complete at least 6 months of standard chemotherapy to ensure their disease is stable. The main goals are to see if the 90-day death rate is below 5% and to measure side effects and quality of life one year after the procedure.
