First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looked at 275 adults with a chronic cough and a lung condition called bronchiectasis, where airways are stretched and trap mucus. The goal was to better describe the physical features, lung scans, and bacteria in the lungs of people with unexplained bronchiectasis. Participants provided blood, sputum, and lung function tests to help researchers find possible genetic links or risk factors.
