Disc cell injection shows promise for back pain relief

Summary

This study tested whether injecting special disc cells into damaged spinal discs can safely reduce chronic low back pain. 38 adults with early to moderate disc disease received either a low or high dose of the cell treatment or a sham injection. The goal was to check safety and see if the treatment improves pain and daily function over a year.
