New app aims to ease the burden for families of critically ill loved ones

Summary
This study is testing a mobile app called ICUconnect, designed to help coordinate care and address the emotional and practical needs of older adults in intensive care and their families. It will involve 350 patient-family pairs across four hospitals. The goal is to see if using the app leads to better support, less distress, and more personalized care compared to standard hospital procedures.
