Simple mask test could improve safety for critically ill patients

NCT ID NCT05409573

Summary

This study aims to find out if measuring oxygen levels with a standard facemask is accurate enough for critically ill patients who need a breathing tube placed. Researchers will compare the facemask readings to a more precise measurement taken through a small tube in the nose and throat. The goal is to see if the simpler, less invasive facemask method is reliable for guiding this common but risky procedure in the ICU.
