Simple tube change could help ICU patients eat sooner
NCT ID NCT05795569
Summary
This study tested whether removing feeding tubes immediately after patients in intensive care have their breathing tubes removed helps them start eating by mouth sooner. Researchers compared this early removal approach against standard care in 112 ICU patients. The goal was to see if this simple change reduces swallowing problems and gets patients back to normal eating faster.
