Can better information ease the agony of ICU family decisions?
NCT ID NCT07435896
Summary
This study aims to understand how different ways of providing information affect family members who must make difficult decisions about medical procedures for their loved ones in intensive care. Researchers will work with 60 family members facing choices about tracheostomy (breathing tube) or PEG (feeding tube) placement. They will measure how the family's education level and the information they receive impact their anxiety, satisfaction, and the overall decision-making process.
