Can better information ease the agony of ICU family decisions?

NCT ID NCT07435896

Summary

This study aims to understand how different ways of giving information affect family members who must make difficult decisions about medical procedures for their loved ones in intensive care. Researchers will work with 60 family members facing choices about a breathing tube (tracheostomy) or feeding tube (PEG). They will measure how anxiety levels and satisfaction with the decision change based on the family's education level and how information is presented.
