Frozen donor sperm study: is extra sperm injection worth it?

NCT ID NCT07175571

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study looks at two ways to fertilize eggs with frozen donor sperm: ICSI (injecting a single sperm into each egg) and conventional IVF (mixing eggs and sperm in a dish). About 95 women undergoing IVF at Shady Grove Fertility Center will have their eggs split into two groups, one for each method. The goal is to see which method produces more usable embryos and whether ICSI, which is often used routinely, actually offers any advantage over standard IVF when male infertility is not a factor.
