Fertility showdown: ICSI or IVF – which works better with donor sperm?
NCT ID NCT07175571
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looks at two ways to fertilize eggs in a lab – ICSI (injecting a single sperm into an egg) and conventional IVF (mixing eggs with sperm in a dish) – when using frozen donor sperm. About 95 women without male fertility problems will have their eggs split into two groups, one fertilized with each method, to see which produces more usable embryos. The goal is to find out if the extra step of ICSI is truly helpful in these cases.
