Glow-in-the-dark dye helps surgeons spot hidden tumor cells during surgery

NCT ID NCT07315841

First seen Jan 02, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether a dye called indocyanine green (ICG) can help surgeons see tenosynovial giant cell tumors (TGCT) during surgery. About 40 people with TGCT will get an ICG injection before their operation, and surgeons will use a special camera to spot glowing tumor tissue. The goal is to see if this technique improves how completely the tumor is removed, compared to standard methods.
