First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tested a personalized, low-dose dye (indocyanine green) to help surgeons see bile ducts more clearly during emergency gallbladder removal in 21 patients with severe gallbladder inflammation. The dye was given one hour before surgery, and the dose was based on each patient's bile duct thickness measured by MRI. The goal was to improve surgical safety and accuracy by making the bile ducts stand out on special camera images.
